As we head into this weekend, Warriors fans will be hoping for a better start to a game, while Newcastle Knights fans have to be asking themselves whether their team is potentially better off without Kaylyn Ponga.
In my dream, I imagine I’d build the club based on people and players of good character. I figure if you did that, the results would eventually come because people of good character won’t put up with losing all the time, or giving up during games.
The funny thing about criticising Shaun Johnson these days is you’re not allowed to. There’s a growing over-protective section of the league community that are triggered at any hint of his name being whispered in a constructive context, let alone criticised.
He hasn’t done enough to discourage the fanbase, but in the same turn, hasn’t done enough to excite it. Yet given his price tag, you would expect him to have a bigger impact, or at least make the starting side easily.
